Best Gas Mileage - Trinity Broadcasting Network Holds Out Challenge to Aspiring Producers

There is still a bit of time left for aspiring producers to submit their "family friendly" programs to TBNs Innovate Program Challenge 2008. You could even deliver your finished DVD in person if you are living in the right part of the country or if you would consider travelling. An appointment can be scheduled for you to discuss your production with a TBN Executive.

Just because I usually write about theological, political or church issues doesn't keep me from thinking there may be someone out there who is just dying for a chance to show there ideas and production efforts. A while back I spoke with two producers who started on a shoestring and one of them now has a full size production company that can and has produced several shows simultaneously.

While gathering information from the contest representatives I was able to uncover a few major reasons why the chance is being offered and what the result will be if you are chosen. First TBN is not just looking for top producers but for those who are determined to rise to the top by submitting only their best original and most inspiring material.

Reps at TBN say winners will see their productions air on shows like TBNs "Smile of a Child," age group 2to 12 "The Church Channel," all ages, "JCTV," for teens and young adults and TBN Enlace USA for Hispanic viewers. The stuff TBN is looking for is far above mere entertainment. They want thought provoking, inspiring and spiritually fired materials to go along with the powerful Christian programming they have produced now for almost four decades.

The winner will have their program picked up and aired to millions around the world. The winners(s) will be announced by TBNs top exec and founder Paul Crouch on their very popular program called "Behind the Scenes."

There are a couple of ways to submit your material. One is to go the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention being held in Las Vegas from April 14 to18, 2008 and bring your finished DVD with you. Joan Higley who is TBNs Cable Affiliate Relations Manager says you can sign up at the Technologies for Worship Pavilion in the Central Hall at the TBN Networks booth.

If you can't make the convention all is not lost because you can ship your DVD by the speed of light shipping service of your choice by sending it to The Ultimate TBN Networks Program Challenge, 2442 Michelle Drive, Tustin, CA 92780 by April 30, 2008. For those not as familiar with TBN as others it has been around since 1973. It started with one simple UHF station in Southern California. TBN programming is now seen in virtually every country in the world and their website is viewed by 27 million people a month.

As a writer I know how many times I just had to sit down and address a subject. Sometimes it is like a fire in my bones as the old prophet Jeremiah said "Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay." (Jeremiah 20:9) I have no doubt that for those who have chosen a different media to get the message out that fire must be equally intense.

If producing inspiring TV programming is what burns in your bones or in someone you know perhaps I have written this just for you.
